Laundry Day (Emporia Kansas Child Photographer)

Could this portrait session have been anymore fun? Oh no I don't think so! Jessica was kind enough to let me borrow her lovely daughters to try out a fun location. The laundry mat! Her girls had never been to the laundry mat before so it was a fun little adventure for all of us.

The colors and the light at the laundry mat were amazing! One of my favorite locations ever. And these adorable little models were so good and fun to photograph.

I strongly encourage families to think outside the box when it comes to locations for portraits. You just never know what will work wonderfully. Let's get a fun portrait session scheduled for you and your child soon! I'm currently booking for May sessions and May weekends are filling up fast so don't wait.

Tutu Much Fun

There is no way anyone can ever have tutu much fun! However, I do think that these tutu wearing girls and their wonderful mama pushed my fun meter almost to overload. Seriously! Could these children be any more adorable. Not only are they adorable but they are super funny.

Yes we did take photos on the train tracks. I can assure you that the tutu girls were being watched the entire time by three adults. There were no trains in sight! What was in sight were tutu clad girls laughing, playing ring around the rosie, throwing rocks, and smiling with their mama. All things I love to see!

These pictures are a perfect example of how fun adding props or special items to your portrait session can be. Mom made these adorable tutu's for her girls. Not only are the picture perfect but it really showcases for future reference the stage the girls were in. Someday these little girls will grow up and no longer want to play dress up. But mom now has captured this moment forever. She can look back at these pictures and remember how wonderful it was to make things for her babies and how adorable they looked in her creations. So please when scheduling your sessions lets discuss what personal items we can include in your portraits.

And please Ashley bring those adorable tutu girls back for some more fun in the future! I can't wait to see you all again.

Mr. Valentine (Emporia Child Photographer)

Mr. Jace stole my heart when I photographed him! His aunt brought him to the Valentine Mini Session as a gift for his mom. She knew nothing about the pictures so we had to keep them top secret. He thought that part was pretty cool. I just thought his personality was way to cool!

Jace had never had professional pictures taken before but you would have never known it. He was such a little ham for the camera. I handed him that love sign and he just went to town posing with it. I love letting kids just be themselves rather than giving them lots of directions and trying to pose them "right". Most of the time if you give kiddos the time they will create some pretty great poses on their own.

Rumor has it that Jace's mom loved the pictures of him. I can't imagine how surprised she was to open them up and see her cute boy. It really was a fabulous gift idea. I love suprises!

I will be having more mini sessions soon. This too would be a great opportunity to update your children's pictures or suprise a loved one with photos of their own child.

Beautiful Day, Beautiful Family

Today it's snowing and it is FREEZING cold outside. So I'm pulling out some warmer weather pictures in an attempt to remember that nice weather will return again soon. Shockingly these pictures of the beautiful Moore family were taken in early November. It was still beautiful out then and one of the last really nice days we had.

I just love this family. They all are so spunky and have so much personality. They are just a blast to work with and to know!

Even though they were a little bit hesitant I'm glad we got a picture of just Lori and Jaime together. So often parents hesitate on pictures alone without the kids. But I think it's important to always get at least a couple of the "couple" at each session. Too often the last time a couple had a portrait alone was at their wedding!

Seriously could these girls be any more adorable! They were such a blast and were willing to try anything I suggested.

I'm not sure if you have caught on yet but the Moore's are BIG KU fans. My kind of family! And I so love Avery's bright shoe strings. Takes me back to my childhood in the 80's. I'm not sure I could pull off the rainbow shoestrings now but everytime I look at this picture I really want to try it.

Thanks again to the Moore's for letting me photograph their beautiful family. I could take pictures of you all every day! So much fun!
